Slanic Prahova trip features: a pleasant half day trip to one of the biggest salt mine in Europe: Unirea Mining Complex. The mine was open in 1943 and the exploatation of the salt ended in 1970, when the mine was turned into a sanatorium for lung disorders and a tourist attraction. A lift drops the visitors 210 meters below the surface, to the former salt mine, comprises 14 chambers with trapezoidal profils, having a 10 m opening to the ceiling and 32 m opening to the base; the height of the room is 54 m.
Included in the trip: transportation by medium size sedan/minivan with A/C, licensed tour guide, admission fees to the museums/attractions (Unirea Salt Mine).
